Summary: Geometry is a class for high school age students who should have above average mathematical proclivities. It will cover the following topics:
- Measuring Systems
- Introduction to Geometric Figures
- Surface Area and Volume
- Points, Lines, Segments, Midpoints and Chords
- Circular Arcs, Circles, plane and Coordinates
- Parallel Lines and Polygons
- Triangles, Theorems and Proofs
- Transformations
- Similarity
- Geometric Solids
- Set Theory
- Logic in Mathematics
- Angles, lines and transversals
- Analytical Geometry
- Vectors
- Introduction to Trigonometry
- Sine Rule and Cosine Rule
This course will give students an understanding of geometry and the power that this methodology has in solving a range of mathematical problems. The small class size will allow for individual attention, yet enable cooperative learning.
